Briargate
In 1978, the Briargate Master Plan was developed to safeguard the vision, integrity and property values of the community. From the very start, all the elements needed to create a community were included and designed to be cohesive – the school sites, parks and open spaces, roads, social and cultural outlets and a wide range of housing choices. Today, the 9,600-acre master-planned community provides a carefully planned mix of land that offers opportunities to live, worship, work, and play to a wide range of individuals.
In September of 2005, the last new home closing in original Briargate occurred and ended an era of Colorado Springs history—giving way to new master planned communities developed by La Plata Communities
